HotShot Diamond

HotShot Diamond™ is a PCR mastermix designed to amplify DNA with the use of a Thermocycler. Our mastermix incorporates a Taq Polymerase mixed with an anti-Taq antibody. This means that the Taq polymerase is inactive until the mix has been incubated above 90C. This releases the Taq to start to amplify DNA. Our mastermixes contain everything you need for PCR expect your DNA and Primers. Our mix has a starting MgCl2 concentration of 6mM. We’ve also added more than “normal” amounts of Taq polymerase. This ensures that the mix gives strong amplification and more Taq is available at any one time to amplify your DNA. The buffers that we incorporate are designed to provide for robust amplification across a range of temperatures and templates. It’s even a very good reagent for multiplex assays and qPCR.
Finally, we know that the mix works very well for High Resolution Melting with LCGreen Plus™ (Idaho Technologies Inc).
A mix for all the seasons? We offer SureShot for routine PCR aimed at gel electrophoresis. However, for demanding applications where you need your mix to work that extra bit more, then HotShot Diamond is as tuff as they come.
